The Beacon IEP Procedures 23/24 have been updated to include guidance on the following:
Partial day students(slide 13)- We have received further guidance from RESA to indicate BDT services on the grid and utilize the comments box.
Departmentalized Programming(slide 12)- We have received guidance from RESA that if elementary students are switching teachers for core areas such that their programming is considered departmentalized. We will need to indicate this on appropriate IEPs moving forward. We will not be amending IEPs to indicate this.
Progress Reports (slide 20)- Staff are not required to input the full IEP into MiStar for a move in student. A google doc is included as an option for you to utilize, other options are also given.
Agency consent to participate in an IEP for transition purposes (slide 9)- We need to get prior written consent from the parent any time we are inviting an agency that is likely to be responsible for providing or paying for transition service. Use the form titled Parental Consent to invite an Agency Representative. We had a student level corrective action in this area in the 22-23 school year.
Additionally, if a student has an EIP please make sure that this accommodation is included in the supplementary aids and services. You will want to note a comment in the comments box indicating that the EIP may be reviewed and revised outside of the IEP process with the parents input.
