LPEA: Please be sure to upload your student data summary into the student growth section of Standards for Success. I understand some Middle School and High School teachers will use NWEA, while others will use pre/post assessments, so some won't be able to be uploaded until closer to the last day of school.

Gleaner's Cereal Drive

Info from Ms. Doctor:

We are asking each staff member (if able)  to contribute two boxes of cereal to help kick off this event.  All donations will go directly to Gleaners who will then distribute them to families in need.  We will include our students in this drive as well.  I will create and distribute "Beacon Cereal Bucks" for all of our students.  They will then be able to take their Beacon Cereal Buck to purchase a box of cereal for families in need.  The only thing they need to do to earn/receive the Cereal Beacon Buck is come to school. This method will allow students to  participate in giving and understanding the importance of helping others in need.  Students will also be encouraged to bring in a box of cereal but it is not required.  We will support them with their giving in our contribution of two boxes.

Please see the information below to help answer questions that you may have
1. Week of May 12th-May 16th:  Staff (if able) will bring in their 2 boxes of cereal.  Please keep the boxes in your classroom in the cabinet.

2. Friday May 16th: Ms. Doctor and a few students will come around and collect the boxes of cereal staff brought in.

3.  Monday May19th: all students will receive their Beacon Cereal Bucks. Students only need 1 Beacon Cereal Buck to purchase a box of cereal.

4. Tuesday May 20th-May 23rd: all students will buy their box of cereal from our Cereal Store (Location will be in the PBIS room). A schedule will be distributed.

5. May 26th-May 29th additional collection and purchases if applicable.

6. May 30th- Cereal boxes will be picked up from Beacon.

Additional Information:
I will create a video and send it to staff to show to students during Group on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the week of May 12th.
I will send an email out to families on May 12th with information regarding the Cereal Drive.
If students bring in cereal boxes during the week of May 12th please keep the boxes in your room.  They will be collected with the others on May 16th.
We have a collection box for the cereal.  I will let you know where that will be housed.

Basketball Hoop?

If anyone happens to have an outdoor portable basketball hoop they're looking to get rid of that's in decent condition, and you would like to donate it to Beacon, the student's would love it!

Remember your Work Badge

We have a large staff, and it takes a lot of time to buzz people into the building when people forget to bring their badge to work. Please try to remember to bring your badge everyday to let yourself into the building. This will be really helpful in trying to keep the office running efficiently.
