Week of April 27th

PBiS/Trauma Informed Focus of the Month Be Responsible/Mastery

  • Matrix Refresher Activity

  • Special Event: TBD

  • Quarterly Field Trip

"Responsible" activities can be found here. Matrixes can be found in the PBiS/Trauma-Informed shared Folder. Remember that "Mastery" does not mean a student has mastered a skill per se, but it means they can display the skill with success, and build on it.

IEP Reminders
The special education department is now pulling IEP's at random to conduct compliance checks. We have had some reoccurring themes that need to be addressed. Please check your IEP's for the following, to be sure they are compliant (it may be good to have a friend look them over as well):

  • Be sure that all required signatures are on the IEP prior to handing it in to Amy
  • Completed IEP's should be provided to Amy no later than 3 days after the IEP has convened.
  • The PLAAFP should always include data that is not older than a year, as well as progress (or lack there of) toward current goals and objectives.
  • Any item stated in the "resulting needs" portion of the PLAAFP that is an accomodation, must be listed on the Supplementary Aides and Services page. Additionally, all accommodations listed must also be in a a "resulting needs" area of the PLAAFP.
  • We only fill in portions of the PLAAFP that are deficit areas for the students, based on current data.
From RESA:

Mark your calendars for the Fifth P-CCS Mental Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kellogg Park in Downtown Plymouth. Join us as we work together to crush the stigma surrounding mental health at this free, interactive community fair for families and children of all ages. Students and families can enjoy a day filled with fun activities, connect with community mental health experts and local organizations, and explore ways to support their mental health and overall wellness.

This year’s event will feature more than 120 mental health and wellness booths, along with a Creation Station, chair massages, raffles, therapy dogs, the Family Fun Zone, Fit Kids, Healing with Horses, Rosco the Clown, free food, music, LEGO tables, face painting, and a petting zoo —something for everyone to enjoy.
